Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders, who played Geri in the Comic Relief version of the “Who Do You Think You Are” video and put in a cameo in Spice World is reportedly writing the story for the Spice Girls musical, the tentatively titled Viva Forever.

With a reported net worth of $200 million, you would think David and Victoria Beckham have nothing to worry about when it comes to their finances. But apparently, the fact that people in the U.S. are so brought down by the economy and their finances has gotten to Victoria, which is why, according to The Sun, she hired an accountant to find out where they can make some cuts in their spending. The accountant basically informed them that they’re pouring money down the drain, and so they had to let go of 14 out of their total 50 staffers across the globe, including six out of seven gardeners at their house in the South of France. Kind of makes you wonder about the financial future of the people they laid off, and perhaps it would also have been a good move if Posh and Becks opted to, I dunno, lose the penchant for high fashion and fancy cars, maybe?

There are reports that Geri Halliwell is kicking around the idea to form a whole new version of the Spice Girls. News of the World reports that Geri feels that it’s about time another girl group took over the world like the Spice Girls did in the late 90s, and that she’s already shopping the band around to various music executives and labels.

So it looks like Melanie C’s recent appearance at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival ruffled a lot of fans’ feathers, who all thought that pop artists have no place at a jazz event. She appeared to do a duet with Peter Vetesse, who defended his choice of singing with here and said he admired her work and her voice.

It looks like Scary Spice Melanie Brown is making her way back to TV very soon, via a new show called The Mel B Project.

The former Spice Girls singer has agreed to be followed around by cameras for a programme which will chart her everyday life. The project is described as a “docu-comedy” and will also include her husband Stephen Belafonte and her daughters Phoenix, 11, and three-year-old Angel.
