The latest Spice Girls news

  • We all know that Scary Spice Melanie Brown is fierce as hell, and it looks like she's garnered quite a following among the gays, too--and she loves it!

  • Speaking of Mel B, she has also said that their former manager Simon Fuller can totally get the whole Spice girls back together for the 2012 Olympics in London.

  • Sporty Spice Melanie C is currently in the West End production of Blood Brothers as Mrs. Johnstone, and Baby Spice Emma Bunton and her long-time boyfriend Jade Jones watched the show to cheer her on!

Who will be the next...Spice Idol?

Talent shows are a dime a dozen nowadays, and they always brag that they can discover fresh new talents who will change the world. They seem more and more similar these days, but here's something that Spice Girls fans can get totally excited about: Spice Idol. The Spice Girls are rumored to be planning an American Idol-esque TV show along with their former manager Simon Fuller. Old Spice Girls fans might be wishing that this show were around back when the group was truly huge to give them a chance to dress up and perform like their idols, but this show should introduce a whole new generation to the Spice Girls' music, style, and attitude.

    The latest Spice Girls news

  • Baby Spice Emma Bunton has been brought on board by Global Radio as a presenter on Heart network! She can be heard on Heart 106.2 on Fridays and Saturdays, starting on June 12. Emma is having a fine time with her career lately, but she wasn't as cool and calm during the first few shows of the Spice Girls reunion: She was having regular panic attacks over her baby weight and what people would say about her body. Everyone around her was extremely supportive though, and told her she looked great even after giving birth--which she did!

  • Sporty Spice Mel C had her baby not too long ago and is keen on shedding her baby weight, hiring a trainer to help her out. This had her former bandmate Scary Spice Mel B surprised, because she figured Mel C wouldn't be needing a trainer to help her out, being Sporty Spice and all!

  • Check out this cute photo of Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell and little Bluebell Madonna enjoying the sun in London! Geri and Emma recently went out together with their significant others to watch Girls Aloud in concert--pretty big of them, really, considering the fact that Girls Aloud are fierce critics of the Spice Girls.

    The latest Spice Girls news

  • We all noted Mel B's smaller-looking hips in her Ultimo photos, but she says they weren't airbrushed at all. Hmm, that's not what it looked like Mel, if you'd really taken a look at the photos.

  • The buzz is that Mel C looks like she'll be giving birth pretty soon!

  • What's Geri's secret to staying in shape?

  • In these tight economic times, we're all trying to hang on to our money as much as possible. Except for the Beckhams, it seems. David just blew on an £80,000 Birkin bag for Victoria!

  • Emma is setting her sights on TV and wants to be on The X Factor's judging panel this year.

Spice Girls' "Stop" is remixed by hospital staff

Not for profit, of course, but simply to get patients to wash their hands or use hand gel more frequently.
Staff at the hospital's maxillofacial department have recorded a cover of a Spice Girls song to urge visitors to use cleaning gel.

The song – to the tune of the girl group's 1998 hit Stop – plays every time a patient walks past one of two life-size cardboard cut-outs.

The project has seen patient hand-washing rates climb from 25% to 91% in just two weeks, according to an audit by the department.

    Spicy bits

  • All her Spice Girl bandmates might already be mothers and ready to dish out parenting advice, but Sporty Spice Melanie C isn't trusting anyone with her pregnancy except for her mother. She says, "I'm sticking with my mum. She's my best friend and you don't get any better than that." "

  • Posh Spice Victoria Beckham is still peeved at Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon for his sexual fantasy, which involved him peeking up Victoria's skirt. Tsk tsk.

  • Sad. If we thought that "friendship never ends," then this bit of news should change our mind. Scary Spice Melanie B has revealed to Closer, a British magazine, that she's not been in touch with the Spice Girls at all, least of all with Victoria Beckham, who, like Mel B, has made her home in Los Angeles. Way to disappoint fans and show that the group who championed "Girl Power" aren't as close-knit as they made themselves out to be.

Will the Spice Girls reunite again for Prince Charles?

The Spice Girls have all said as a group and individually that they are not planning on performing together ever again, and even the likes of Nelson Mandela, who hoped to see the Girls on his birthday, did not sway them one bit. But can Prince Charles convince them to reunite again? Prince Charles is turning 60 very soon, and the Spice Girls are being tapped to perform at his huge birthday bash.

All this after Melanie B firmly stated that, "...we'll never get back together now. That's it for the Spice Girls." Still, we can't really imagine how anyone can say no to him, so we're hoping we see the girls perform as the Spice Girls again!

    Spice Girls update

  • Geri Halliwell may have hung up her Spice Girls boots and put her solo career to bed already, but that doesn't mean she's no longer raring with ambition. She currently has her sights set on the West End. Do you think Geri has what it takes to be in a musical?

  • Victoria Beckham and her sons Cruz and Romeo recently had a scare on an L.A.-bound flight from London.
The former Spice Girls singer was flying to London from Los Angeles with two of her children - five-year-old Romeo and three-year-old Cruz- when a bird flew into one of the plane's engines as it taxied down the runway.

The pilot had to quickly apply the brakes, bringing the aircraft to a screeching halt.
    Whew! Glad you're safe, Victoria!

  • Melanie B already has two lovely daughters--Phoenix Chi and Angel--but she's still looking forward to having kids with her husband Stephen.

  • Emma Bunton may be accustomed to being photographed, having been subjected to the obsessive attention of the paparazzi in the past, but she still finds it amusing how photographers are always chasing after Victoria.

    The latest Spice Girls news

The latest juicy bits exploding about Posh Spice Victoria Beckham is the fact that she once dated 1980s heartthrob Corey Haim. Today, she's chalking up the experience to simply being such a huge fan of his in the past. We're sure she's not happy about what he's saying about her these days; Corey is claiming that Victoria was a bad kisser back in the day. Our Vicki has already dismissed Corey's bitter remarks and also added that their relationship never turned sexual.

  • Baby Spice Emma Bunton has spoken out about her body issues and declares that she's very happy to be curvy.

  • Er, is it really news to be reporting about Geri Halliwell's windswept hair? The Daily Mail seems to think so.

  • Melanie C performed for free at the TD Canada Trust Wellesley stage for Pride Week on June 28.

  • Scary Spice Melanie B is definitely going full force with her career in the U.S.! Watch out for her in the Miss Universe pageant on July 13. No, she's not competing--she's hosting the pageant along with Jerry Springer!

  • Check out this post speculating that the Spice Girls all had matching implants for their 2007 reunion tour. It's a completely ridiculous assumption, especially for the fans who've kept up with the girls over the years. Head on over to put in your two cents about the matter!

    Spice Girls back in power!

In the late nineties, the Spice Girls were at the top of the world. Their clout in the entertainment world was significantly reduced after they disbanded, but thanks to their sold-out reunion tour last year, the girls have been catapulted back into power, landing in 50th place on Forbes' list of the most powerful celebrities.

Spicy scraps slammed; Sporty speaks out

Ah, alliteration is a fun thing.

Anyway, we completely give up on the constant rumors about the feuding fivesome! Melanie C, who has constantly been quoted as tired of the Spice Girls and is said to plan on walking out in case any diva flags start waving, has put her foot down and smashed all the gossip.
“We’re nervous,” Chisholm said. “It’s quite surreal, but everything has come flooding back, all of the songs, and being with each other and rehearsing together, it just feels very comfortable."

"We have got nothing to prove," she said. "We just want to come back and live out the good old days."

She goes on to talk about their nicknames and how they've developed over the years.

We are so pleased to hear you speak up about that at last, Mel!

    Spicy bits

  • Irish group Boyzone is throwing a fit, hunting people down, and taking names. Apparently, they were the ones who first had the brilliant idea to stage a comeback--till Take That and the Spice Girls got in the way of their plans. Ronan Keating suspects someone leaked their ideas to the groups, particularly the girls, saying that what the Spice Girls were planning is similar to what Boyzone had in mind. Sounds a bit dodgy to me. I mean, could boy bands and girl groups possibly stage anything remotely similar? Was Boyzone planning to perform in the buff too and do a world tour? We might never know.

  • The Spice news mill is still rife with rumors that the girls can no longer stand each other, with Melanie C getting ready to jump ship. Geri, on the other hand, has rubbished these claims, saying the group is tighter than ever. I don't know what to say. It sounds really plausible that the girls could be getting on each other's nerves, but I remain hopeful that the Spice Girls will pull through!

  • Speaking of saucy girl fights, Fiona McCade has an interesting article on why the cattiness aspect is always played up in reunions among groups of women.

  • Victoria Beckham's weight has been the subject of much speculation and suspicion through the years, with many people thinking she's anorexic or bulimic. Matters aren't helped any by news that she only ever eats sushi. We've always been a bit concerned about her weight, but the Spice Girls tour should put her figure back on track--this time, she's required to pack on some extra pounds! What with the grueling schedule and routines, Victoria will need all the energy she can get.

Spice Girls' Headlines make the headlines

Incredible! We know that Headlines has been floating around the Internet for some time now, but we heard it on the radio in our area for the first time today! The video is set to be released in the UK on November 2 and based on the pictures, it looks like a really glamorous vid.

Here's the lyrics of Headlines, the hot new Spice Girls single. Let us know if we got some of the portions wrong!

    Emma
The time is now or never
    To fit the missing piece
    To take this on together
    You make me feel complete
    We fall into the future
    And through the looking glass
The light shines over our heads
And so it comes to pass

    Geri
To go beyond the surface to reach into your soul
    This love is not demanding
My heart has told me so
I’ll hold on to my hero
    With faith enough to fly
    The power to imagine
    Will keep this love alive

    Chorus
    Let’s make the headlines
    Loud and true
I wanna tell the world I’m giving it all to you
    Let’s make the headlines
    Loud and clear
The best thing suddenly happened when you are here

If I lost my way, you’d carry me home
Take me all the way to heaven
    Never leave me alone
And it’s just like everything matters when you are near

    Mel C
And it feels so good every step of the way
Your love is alive and it’s making me sing
I could fly, wanna cry, want the whole world to know
We are together, come on baby, let's go

    Victoria
And words yet to be spoken
    Will fall upon the page
    Spelling true devotion
Is all we need to say

    Let’s make the headlines
Loud and true (Say you love me and I'll say our love is true)
I wanna tell the world I’m giving it all to you (Just remember what simple words can do)
    Let’s make the headlines
Loud and clear (All that I have I give to you my friend)
The best thing suddenly happened when you are here (Just remember, friendship never ends)

If I lost my way you’d carry me home
Take me all the way to heaven, never leave me alone
And it’s just like everything matters when you are near (Say you love me and I'll say our love is true)

    Let’s make the headlines
True this time (Just remember what simple words can do)
There’s no hiding from this magical state of mind (I feel love, I feel, I feel love)
If I lost my way, you’d carry me home
Take me all the way to heaven
    Never leave me alone
And it’s just like everything matters when you are near (Say you love me and I'll say our love is true)

Let’s make the headlines loud and true (I feel love, I feel, I feel love)
    Let’s make the headlines
    'Cause I’m giving it all
I’m giving it all to you

More trouble in the Spice camp?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usMel B's been spectacularly successful in Dancing with the Stars this season, but the word is her success is having a terrible effect on the Spice Girls' schedule itself. Nobody expected Mel B to get this far in the competition, and she might even win! Unfortunately, it's been reported that she's spending more time in rehearsals for the show instead of the world tour that the rest of the girls are put off by it. Add to that the rumored Spicy snub in the recent episode and that has all of us wondering if the girls can really keep it all together.

Spice Girls to take it all off!

Their performance of Naked in their previous world tour caused quite a lot of buzz, and their upcoming tour won't be any different, except for one particular detail: They'll be performing at least one song in the buff, and might even do a poledancing routine. It's a far, far cry from their old performances and we're not sure it's such a brilliant idea. Hopefully those routines won't make them look like a bunch of strippers on tour.

The Spice Girls do Victoria's Secret

Okay, so they're not really Spice Girls anymore, and you can see that with their upcoming product endorsement deals. Remember when they were pushing Spice Girl lollies, Walkers Crisps, and Impulse body spray? Those days are gone, and this time, one of the products they're promoting is Victoria's Secret lingerie.

However, the band are said to be terrified about stripping down to their lingerie and have embarked on strict diet and exercise regimes to ensure they look their best.

A source said: "The girls are working out like crazy to ensure they look sexy. The shoot will feature each girl wearing lingerie appropriate to their Spice Girls nickname."

Personally, I have no idea why they're terrified. They look better than ever; Victoria's a lot thinner than she used to be, Mel C got over her weight gain which happened during the time of Forever, Geri looks extremely fit--need I say more?

The Spice Girls to become supermarket spokespersons

It seems like since they announced their comeback, the Spice Girls still retain their appeal and clout, and are being snagged for endorsement deals all over the place. Their latest endorsement coup? A deal with Tesco's, a supermarket chain.

A spokeswoman for the retailer confirmed that the Spice Girls had filmed two Christmas adverts for the supermarket, which are said to be intended to give "a glimpse into what Christmas with the Spice Girls might be like".

Their venture to front Tesco's ads reportedly earn the fivesome; Victoria Adams, Melanie Brown, Melanie C, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton, a cool 1million pound sterling each.

Well played, girls, for making the Spice phenomenon happen all over again, all over the place.

    Spice Girls-Westlife word war!

Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm has expressed her dislike for Irish pop group Westlife, something which Nicky Byrne isn't going to take sitting down.
Byrne now warns Chisholm, 33: 'If Mel C wants to start opening her mouth and picking on us individually or our families then it is going to become personal.'

Ah come on, fellas, no need to get all touchy. You can't expect everyone to like you, and is it really that big a deal if someone doesn't approve of your band and your music? I think they're jumping the gun a bit, especially since Mel C hasn't even made personal attacks yet, but they certainly look like they're asking for it with their threat!

Spice Force One to fly Spice Girls around the world

If you've got the cash to throw around, why not travel in style? This appears to be the Spice Girls' way to travel. From cramming in a small house in Maidenhead to being able to live it up wherever and however they want, the Spice Girls have certainly come a long way, and their traveling preferences have definitely changed, too. While starting out, the girls were flown first-class all over the world, eventually getting their own private jet. But for their highly anticipated world tour, they're leasing a Boeing 757, dubbed "Spice Force One," as well as two more planes for their dancers, equipment, staff, and goodness knows what else!
